The story for your amusement:
My kid put an incorrect key into my ignition cylinder, I managed to get it out and it worked fine for a few weeks, then for a few weeks it had an occasional issue turning but eventually it would go into run and start. Yesterday I couldn't get it to turn even to standby and then had a really hard time getting my key out. I painstakingly was able to pry it out with my hands, millimeter by millimeter, and now I can't get any key to go in at all.
OEM part kit is gonna be over $400 for the ignition lock kit w/ keys so I was looking for other options.
One option I was considering was a remote unlock and push-to-start mod kit. Does anyone have experience with them? Do they fail while driving? Attaching an image of one type. Is this a crazy stupid mod idea and Scotty would give me a really hard time if it was in my car?
Thanks all.

I've watched several Scotty videos and he's not a big fan of aftermarket stuff for that. They don't last very long and cause more problems down the road.
