Revving when stopped

I have ford ranger fx4 2017 AT. I noticed that my car starts revving, rpm increases after i drive and put it in park. Sometimes when i start my car it starts revving it stops only when I pull the accelerator back with my foot. My mechanic says i should clean the throttle body and egr. But after they did it. Its still revving up but not as often as before. Maybe some of you experience it and give me some advice.  Thanks.

to what RPM does it rev to?

2700 or more i think. I didnt wait for it to come to maximum rev i just pull the accelerator and it just go down. Usualy its idling at 800

What good does cleaning an EGR valve do to fixing a sticking throttle? They're pretty much completely unrelated. It's an Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve.

Did you happen to spill something on the floor and screw up the pressure sensor for the throttle, or make it sticky? There's no direct link from the gas pedal to the throttle body anymore. That stuff is all electronic. Stepper motors on the throttle body open and close the throttle plate. If there's an electrical problem, it will cause it to stick. Hook up a scan tool and use live data to look at the throttle. There are 3 or 4 channels for the throttle, a primary and several backups. Look for abnormalities there.

Is it possible that the fault is in the accelerator pedal. My mechanic advice us to replace it.

I have recently went to mechanic to clean the egr of my ford ranger fx4 AT 2017 with 148k miles on it because it has sticky accelerator. How long will i have to wait after its cleaned to come back to its normal acceleration. Because now sometimes after i drive and put my car to neutral even if i dont step on gas my car revs up to 2500rpm or more i think but when i pull the accelerator back with my foot it goes down.

This is basically the same as your previously posted topic. For future reference please take note of the following in the forum rules. Thank you.
