Ridgeline VCM disabling

Hi. I have a 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL-T, 3.5 V6, 6 speed automatic. Currently 16,000 miles. I would like to inquire if I was to buy a OBD2 scanner with ECU reprogramming capabilities, would I be able to disable permanently the VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) function and if I wish, later reactivate it if I was ever wanting to sell it? I do not wish to use an add-on device such as the VCM Muzzler. Thank you for your time whether or not you can answer this.

Phoning a friend @Mod_Man

Keep in mind if you mess with the ECU it will void the warranty and the dealer scan tools can usually tell if it’s been modified or not even if you restore it back.

I know on GM vehicles you can disable the cylinder deactivation using HPTuners but I didn’t see any option for Honda (@Mod_Man correct me if I have this wrong).

You will void your warranty if you tamper with the ECU. Any good mechanic can tell with a scan tool that changes have been made.

I do not believe there is anything out for the Hondas as of yet that can disable it via OBD-II @DayWalker. I've only seen those GM ones around.

The only way to truly disable VCM would be to replace the engine components related to it with non-VCM parts. Meaning new lifters, cams, and tune to keep it simple. It's about $3000 to do it right.

I wouldn't change anything as you don't want to void your warranty.
