My Hyundai Crapccent has rod knock after 120k miles even though I had my oil changed ever 3-5k miles and never went below a quarter tank of gas. should i replace the engine or get a new car?
It’s typical of well maintained Hyundai/Kia products to start falling apart post 100,000 miles. This forum itself has numerous threads of these vehicles suffering catastrophic engine failure well before 100,000 miles.
Get rid of it ASAP & buy yourself another reliable vehicle.
UPDATE: I have dumped the car and bought a 2015 honda civic with 62k miles and it drives perfectly! NEVER going Hyundai again
Get rid of it and don't buy another Hyundai or Kia!
I would get another car (not Hyundai/Kia). If you keep driving it and the engine goes on you (matter of time), you could risk being stranded at an inopportune moment/location.
If I were you you’re most likely going to get a new car soon so why would you spend the money to rebuild the engine so I would buy a new car but not brand new a Used Toyota Camry because it’s similar to the ascent and it’ll last u a lifetime but that’s just what I would do you can do whatever you want
You're not going to get much money for a car with a rod knock. The car is not worth investing in. I would save money and drive it to.it blows.
