Sorry I have been asking so many questions, but here is one more.
For a while now(I dont know how long, I have only gotten into cars about 6 months ago) a car my family is borrowing from a good friend while they are in a different country has been having a few issues. The car is a 1993 subaru loyale manual 200k. Issue 1 that I am aware of, is when I am idling the car shakes like there is a person on each side pushing down on the sides of the car. I suspect this to be a motor mount, but at the same time considering the other issues it could be a misfire aswell, though thats iffy. The second issue I notice would be something I am not sure if its an issue so much as a quirk, but when I am starting the car and accelerating from a stop light the car makes a kind of coughing noise(closest I could think to what it would be) coming from the exhaust, aswell as sometimes a lack of power. I know this is only an 80hp engine, but I think it should be a little less stuttery than it is. The third issue would be a very oily engine, from around the valve cover gaskets. it is on both sides of the engine. I dont think this is a huge leak, but it is very oily. also I dont know for sure if this is just something with a manual car or a sign of a dying clutch, but when I start the car and try and put it into reverse it makes a grinding unless I put it in 1st beforehand. issue 4: power steering being very inconsistant, when I try to turn from just turning the car on/sitting for a bit, it makes a whine and sometimes feels like the power steering just isnt working. Oh yeah and the car had a mice infestation in the hvac and we cant find the source of the huge smell coming from it. I know its probably not worth fixing everything on this car, but I would like to know if there are any solutions to these problems I have found with it so far. Sorry I have been posting so many questions, but I find this a good outlet for me to find answers to car questions I have.
Thanks for reading.
Valve cover gasket being blown is probably leaking oil into where the spark plugs are. Probably needs a tune up and checked for vacuum leaks. You will probably have to pull the dash and carpet to get all the dead mice and nesting out of your vents. The power steering pump is probably on its way out for good and will need to be replaced. Good luck.
