S.O.S 2016 RAV 4 Keep or Sell

I have a 2016 RAV 4  SE with 135,000km she has been fabulous. I have not kept up with major maintenance as we were due to sell her last year as husband has car allowance - his work has now changed conditions of car allowance - and I am stuck wondering if i should invest $ into her - or sell her. I have NOT done Transmission fluid exchange ever, (mixed feelings as I diligently watch Scotty and Care Car Nut) I have not changed Serp. Belt, power steering fluid - the only thing i have done is regular oil /filter change, coolant & brake fluid, new batt and front brakes at 71km - should I keep her? i don't have any mechanics that i trust for big stuff - so i would have to go to Toyota for major stuff. i was quoted $620 for Serp Belt - seems steep - or is this the price I should be paying. Thank You !

PS - I have 4mm left on back brakes

PPS - I was recommended to do Intake Manifold Clean for $161.00 - is this necessary ?

Proper maintenance is the key to longevity with any vehicle. Since much has been done/kept up with (ie. oil/filter changes, front brakes, brake fluid, coolant) not is left to do. Power steering fluid is the only thing you didn't mention.

The 2.5 L engine and the 6 speed automatic make a solid combo. So say your oil change intervals were every 10,000 kilometers or less, the engine should be fine. At 135000 km or ~84000 miles, if the transmission still shifts good, you also should be able to service it without encountering any problems.

The $161 price on the serpentine belt replacement seems rather high but I'm only familiar with US pricing. The intake manifold cleaning service sounds like a scam. Those engines run up to 200K miles without needing anything.

I'd keep it.

Correction: $620 for a serpentine belt replacement belt seems high

Thx for your feedback - really appreciated. I did forget to mention the electronics....the display screen has been intermittently glitchy, slow to load when I start, slow to connect to blue tooth. I can get Toyota to hook it up to diagnostics.

Have not done power steer fluid - willl do this at same time.

I will be taking her to Toyota for serp belt and tran fluid, so I am at the mercy of emptying my bank account, however, way cheaper than buying newer model.

@bc-van-island-driver Replacing the serpentine belt, brake fluid, power steering fluid and servicing the transmission are simply not 'big ticket items' They do not need to be done by a dealership, you will just pay more and there's literally no benefit in doing that. These are all things that can be done DIY or that can be done by any competent mechanic. In your situation, the infotainment system would need to be r/r at the dealer. (unless you replace it with aftermarket unit)

Thanks for all your feedback Hixster - I feel confident keeping her now.
Cheers

@bc-van-island-driver You're welcome. It would be hard to replace your RAV4 with a better vehicle.. even if you bought a new one.
