Hi Everyone. I got a toyota aygo 2016. The rear reverse socket is out. I checked all the continuity in the plugs and wires everything is great. Inside the socket there are two contact. There is supposed to be continuity from both but there is not. The wires going to them do but they dont to eachother. now what do I do? I don't know how to take it apart aand I could not find a replacement. Here was the code on the socket though p21w pbt gf30

The contacts inside the socket? They shouldnt have continuity, one is your positive when you put the car in reverse, and one is your ground.

What wires are you testing for continuity?

You didn't say which side is the problem.

So let's take the Right Side back-up lamp as an example.

((If it's the Left side then do the same thing on the Left side))

Grab a T pin or a pin from your wife's sewing basket.

Pierce the Ground wire (White & Black) and using a test light make sure it lights the test light. (test light alligator clip on battery Positive source)

Then, Key ON with transmission in Reverse pierce the Power wire (Red) and using a test light make sure it lights the test light. (test light alligator clip on battery negative source ((like a good chassis Ground))

If the test light lights up in both tests, and you're sure the bulb is good, then you have a bad socket.

(Use a test light, not a multimeter, to put a little load on the circuit)

The rear reverse socket is out.

Umm ... are you talking about your reverse lights?

No, I don't think so. But please describe what you actually did.

Have you checked your fuses?

I could post a picture but I dont know how.

You may have missed the instructions for photos in the topic entitled "READ THIS FIRST - Forum Guide" near the top of the page - you'll find info there on photos and much more.

You are sure, the bulb itself is okay and functioning when fed with some current??

Would be better, you posted a picture of the bad socket itself, not a link to an alie 'might be look-alike'

The contacts inside the fitting are clean and not bend-and-losing-contact-to-the-bulb?
