Scan Tools

Hey Scotty,

I see you using so many different scanners. I have been watching your videos for some time now and as a result of your advice, I have sold my BMW, Audi and Mercedes and purchased relatively simple and dependable vehicles. I now have a new 2021 5.0 V8 Mustang with a stick shift and a 2021 Toyota Prado 2.8 turbo diesel.

What is the best scan tool which will cover my vehicles? I don't mind paying up to $1000 for a decent scanner. Cheers TC in Australia.

See my write up below:  It was intended for North American audience, but in your case you’d have to confirm those models are supported by the manufacturer in your region - very important if you want warranty, service, updates in the future.  Read what I wrote, check the links, and also contact them to confirm they are for your region (if not they will tell you which ones are supported).

Wow. Big spender!

For that kind of dough just buy a top shelf Autel, or even OEM tools.

Autel if you need a serious tool. Which you will for that MT-82 Chinese clunkbox in the Mustang, sadly.
