Scion XD 2011 1.8 4 cylinder automatic , 172k miles, no codes, car starts and drives great but has an absolutely obnoxious whine when accelerating and stops whining when letting go of the pedal and coast, I just did a trans drain and fill, and noticed the sound afterwards, it gets loudest if I keep steady at 2000rpm but then gets drowned out at higher rpm and speed but I can still hear the whine faintly through the road noise.
First drain and fill that I'm aware of for This car, fluid level is good. Did not do a flush, just a drain and fill. Could it be something else besides the trans?

try removing the serpentine belt and see if the noise goes away
