1997 Toyota 4Runner 174,000 miles
this winter it started making a loud winding noise from the engine speeds up when you rev it up slows down at idle doesn't seem to go away runs fine shifts great no overheating or other issues should I worry about this noise what could it be? bought the car used at 130k says timing belt changed 75k limited. 4wd
sounds like a power steering pump when it's low on oil but the fluid on this one is full

In a 24yr old vehicle, if it’s not the power steering pump itself, I’d check the water pump next. And the other pulleys, next.
