Although I will admit that car looked in decent shape, I believe it is included in the Hyundai/Kia Engine settlement (although I'd need the VIN to double check):
Usually you're very negative about Hyundais (& for good reason) but you mentioned this engine could last if you maintained it. Do you still believe that's true, despite the engine being defective?

Scotty's in person reviews are more positive than when he's at his home talking to the computer.
The 2.0 and 2.4 Sonatas (all of them since 2011) are problematic and have engine defects.
I guess his overall conclusion is that its a good buy for $1200

It’s been proven for over 15 yrs that Hyundai cannot build properly working motors. And they try like mad to hide it.
