I recently bought a 2012 Lexus is250 AWD that is in good overall shape and runs fine. I found out that these cars have sealed transmissions and are supposed to last the lifetime of the transmission. Mine has about 144k miles on it and I do not know if it has ever had the fluid changed out. Should I look into finding a shop that can pump in and out ATF with how many miles my lexus has on it?
I would never do any kind of flushing with any kind of pump. But I would drain and then pump in the same amount of fluid that came out. Just make sure you use the original equipment fluid
Sign up on the Lexus owners site and register the car. Their records may show you if it has been changed or not, along with a ton of other info.
I changed the fluid in my Lexus GX470 like Scotty said, worked great.
