The car in question is a 96 Camry DX with 121,000 miles and an automatic transmission. I’ve had it for 2 years with quite a bit of maintenance and big repair items. I’m planning on getting a new car and was wondering if I should keep it as a knock around weekend project car or sell it for $500-$1000? I was thinking that space may be an issue with 5 cars in the driveway rather than 4 and I could spend the money on maintenance for the new car. Let know what you think as always!
I got a 2nd car to keep the miles off my truck. You did the "big repair items", if it's running good, I'd keep it.
It runs pretty well, got a hitch in the shifting going from 1-2 recently since it’s been cold. But other than that it’s pretty good.
I'd keep it, can't beat having a beater with a heater, as they say. I drive my '99 Ranger 275 miles a week instead of putting all those miles on my 2017 Mustang. If I want to look fancy, I'll drive that. If I don't care, I'll drive my truck, if I want to get funny looks driving a 1970s full size Pontiac with Led Zeppelin on the radio, I'll drive my Catalina. Haha.
😂😂 you make good points. I do enjoy driving it around. It would also take the pressure off the repairs if its not my daily.
Personally, I’d keep it because that is my all time favorite Camry. Call me a car nerd. Lol.
I agree! I think I’ll keep it and fix it up a bit.
