Hi Scotty I really need some help here, I have a 2011 Lexus ES350 and she has this issue where when I’m accelerating it’s shaking/wobbling/shuttering whatever you want to call it. Does this shaking when I’m accelerating most evident at 75-80mph, does it when I’m braking too and makes my steering wheel shake to both accelerating and braking. Also shakes when I’m just cruising too. Only doesn’t happen when I let off the gas and coast, problem happens on and off too. So I can’t figure out what’s causing it to happen. I went to a shop and they said it had to do with the CV axel. I asked them to check the brakes too but they said they were like new so I’m not sure what’s going on. They “replaced” the driver side CV Axel for a criminal amount of money but the problem persists Can you help me please? I really need help here. If you need to know mileage, the care is at 118k miles. Is this repair something I can do myself because I don’t trust mechanics for good reason like this most recent experience and I don’t know any good ones around me.
If you spent a fortune getting your car fixed and it's not, take it back and tell them it still shakes. There should be some kind of warranty that came with the service. They're supposedly the experts and need to back up their diagnosis and labor. You need to give the business a chance to correct this, if they don't you have cause to take legal action if you want.
Find an honest mechanic to check the car. Regarding the first mechanic, talk to them to fix the issue or if they can not fix it, demand your money since the issue is still there.
The shaking at higher speed brakeing is due to the warped rotors.
Shaking while you are accelerating can be caused by many things, from bad CV joints to engine mounts,.... A pro should check all the causes before therowing parts at the car.
Could the shaking while accelerating (and cruising at a steady highway speed) be caused by main wheel bearings going bad?
If the wheel bearings go bad, you will hear a noise in all speeds and the noise pitch will change by increase the speed. Is this the case?
Have it scanned for codes and report back please.
Will do, I have an OM126P from Autophix but I've never used it because I just got it. Is this a good brand or should I not use it and just take it to a shop or something?
The only code I see is P0348 saying “camshaft position sensor A circuit High Bank 2”
