Shifter noise and a noise when turning the wheel slightly to the right.

Hi all.

I've recently purchased an 04 base model Pontiac Vibe 5 speed manual.  I've had it for about a month.  It only has 42K miles on it.  On about four occasions in total when shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear the shifter made a clanging noise and it felt as if it moved vertically up in my hand momentarily.  It then continued to move freely into 2nd gear.

I also noticed when driving in 2nd gear that on occasion when I turn the wheel slightly to the right going around a gradual bend in the road I hear a tick tick tick noise.  It does not sound like it's coming from the engine though and I have not noticed it happening when I'm making a full right hand turn.

Any thoughts are appreciated on either of these issues.

Thanks.

Mike

Bump.

Thanks for the Bump. Here's a short video of the noise. The five or so clicks occur when rounding the bend and approaching the stop sign. Thank you.

Check for broken transmission mounts and possible broken motor mounts
