For short trips will driving in lower gears for higher RPM help engine life?

Hey Scotty, I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner with over 200K kilometers. I change the oil twice a year since I mostly do short city trips. I put the transmission in second gear whenever the travel is less than 10 minutes to ensure quick engine warm-up and keep it revving between 2k and 3k RPMs. What's your opinion on this method for the long-term health of my engine?

Of course you would use up more gas. But yes, if you do a lot of short trips, it's better to keep the revs up for longer engine life and not to build up carbon inside it
