I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with just over 100K km. It is manual transmission and sits outside all the time. My wife insists that I will be driving her to work in winter which amounts to 1.7 km away. Will these short trips wreck the Jeep? I grew up believing that an engine needs a certain amount of time to warm up in order to lubricate the engine and driving a short distance in winter will not do this.

Take it for longer trip every few weeks

Then let it warm up to operating temperature before putting any load on it.
