Hey Scotty, I have a 98 Toyota 4runner with 205,000 miles and an automatic transmission. I recently did a tire rotation and balance in my automotive college class. Shortly after it developed a cricket like squeaking chirp, in the the rear passenger wheel area. My teacher said it was probably that I banged the center hubcaps too hard when installing them, so I fixed it. The sound went away for a couple weeks, and then it came back. But it's now only when I'm on the brakes, it was all the time before. It has rear drum brakes that need to be adjusted because it's not breaking very well. What could it be?
Pack of just the brakes first you never know but noises are so hard to find you might try my video finding the sources of car noises Scotty
I would switch the rear wheels just for fun, see if the sound moves. Take a good look at things when you switch them, maybe you will notice something, or the cricket may jump out.
