Should I buy a 2013 Toyota Avalon with 145k miles on it from a dealer or a private seller ?Im in the market for a Large Toyota with a lot of space because I’m 6foot 3 and looking for reliability. Also what about Toyota Avalon hybrids with 100k miles , for 10k dollars , I’ve heard the hybrids are notorious for burning Oil. Thanks
I would not buy a used hybrid because of the maintenance cost. Generally, Avalons are fancy Camry and they are well built cars.
Stay away from the used hybrids & stick to regular gasoline cars.
Is the Camry too cramped for your requirements?
Ideally you’ll get a better deal from a private seller but I’d go with the car which was in better mechanical shape.
As with any used car, have it inspected by a good mechanic, before you buy it.
I think the Camry is good for him as a driver but not for anyone who wants to sit in the second row behind the driver.
@yaser fair enough
I have similar situation which is not fun since you can not fit in a compact cars and so those are not options for you anymore. 😥 😥 😥
@yaser bigger is better!
The Toyota Avalon is a very well built car. I wouldn't buy a hybrid one especially at that age/mileage but the gasoline ones can last a long time. 145k miles is still a significant amount of miles so research the value and don't pay much.
As for the burning oil, that was an issue in a couple model years of the Prius.
