[Solved] What is your opinion on car subscriptions?

It’s being called the way of the future. A subscription plan which is basically the same as a monthly payment lease or finance except it’s a rental that includes maintenance & insurance costs. Usually offered for brand new vehicles including a ridiculously affordable price for Teslas. With the rate of an insurance plan & maintenance costs/headaches of buying a used vehicle & waiting for its repair, it’s tempting to consider but I’ve always owned or financed my cars. What are your thoughts?

Well it's just a Giants game. Automakers only do it because they can't sell their crappy vehicles. So basically they're leasing them out. And the cost is outrageous. If you ever look in the actual figures. It's kind of just a scam for rich people to try out different cars all the time if they're trying to impress people

Try looking into it. It's very expensive.

It depends.

Car subscriptions is a way for company’s to keep you tied to them. And to maintain a consistent bottom line. And it’s not just car makers doing subscription models, it’s a lot of software companies.

For cars specifically, it may seem cheaper at first, but if you do the math, it adds up to be pretty expensive.

With that said, if you are someone who likes the latest and greatest car, it may be worth it for you.

For example, if I understand the Fisker subscription model correctly, you pay an initial fee, and subscribe to a certain tier. You can switch cars at any time, as long as you keep paying the fee. You can upgrade or downgrade your tier. Once you stop paying, you no longer have a car, your subscription is done.

Now say you buy a car. You pay for it. Once you are done paying for it, the car is yours. You still have a car.
