Hi all,

I have the possibility of buying a 2012 chevy tahoe with 80k miles and the seller is asking $14,500, according to Scotty and other sources they are pretty reliable vehicles. Is this a good price?

Thanks

If it has cylinder deactivation, don't buy it.

The price is ridiculous.

He's asking too much money. However, I've seen a good handful of those particular GM SUVS in that generation go 200-250k+ mileage. Test drive the vehicle to see if you like it. Have a mechanic look it over to see if it runs good and confirm that vehicles has 80k original miles.

Thanks, and How do I check if the miles are original and what would be a good price?

Put the key into the on position, if you do start it up it will tell you anyways. A good price be $12,000 at the max, $10k at minimum.

A detailed service history & proof of mileage on oil change receipts etc, will point you towards the mileage being genuine or not.

Also, a fancy dealer level scan tool may also be able to read the mileage stored in the ECU.

Thanks

No worries.
