Hi Scotty,

Because of your experience with Toyotas and the useful information you include in your videos, I have decided to sell my GMC canyon and buy an Avalon with only 109000km. I was able to lower the asking price to $4500 CAD because I pointed out the issues that my Autel scan tool showed. The codes are po300, po301, p1130, P1135 (I know what they mean). Thermostat not reading on dash as well as the VSC check/off light on the dash. According to the semi-shady tow yard guy who is selling it, it was garage kept by the previous owner. The car wasn't started for a month before I went to look at it yesterday and the VSC lights came on as well as the check engine light obviously. No current insurance or plates for i was only able to drive it for a few minutes inside the tiny gravel lot. I turned off the car and turned it back on which then made the VSC lights go out - could of just been the brakes sitting for a while and messed with the cars monitoring system. If got the above issues fixed and the VSC at a shop, what do you think the repair price would be?

Is this car worth buying including the repairs on top of the selling price?

No. Run away.

Reasons why

  1. Oil sludge issue on that engine. http://www.toyotaproblems.com/oil-sludge/
  2. "semi shady tow yard guy"- that's a red flag
