Should I change the automatic transmission fluid even though it shifts perfectly fine right now?

Yep! Honda's like clean fluids.

Make sure you use genuine Honda OEM automatic transmission fluid. Hondas are very particular about that. Also just do a drain and fill - do not flush the system.

Whats the difference between the two? And also in what scenario should I do a complete flush?

Not sure about the exact differences, but Honda transmissions function/shift best with OEM fluid - they tend to be a kind of fussy if you swap to a different kind of fluid. A fluid flush is a last resort solution if the transmission is not working properly. For routine maintenance, a simple fluid change is optimum.

If it’s dirty - YES.

I say, drain and refill, … no flushing! It only takes about 3-1/2 quarts. Warm it up, drain, refill, check level. That’s it. Use Honda DW-1 fluid. It’s an upgrade from what’s been filled with when new. It’s compatible with original. It’s synthetic, it’s inexpensive. Other fluids are questionable, … will effect shift feel.

So let me get this straight... you want to wait until your transmission fails or wears out, and then change the oil?

I hope that's not how you treat the engine.

with 70k, it's not a bad idea to change it now.
