My current engine is toast so I need a new one. Both engines are around the same price, but the JDM (claimed 45k-65k miles on it) comes with intake and exhaust manifolds, serpentine belt assembly, starter, and a few other things. The remanufactured engine is just the engine as far as I know. I don't really need all the extras that the JDM comes with but they would be nice to have for future repairs. Thanks!
Reman motors/transmissions are generally not done right and causes more issues. In your case, go with a JDM engine but be aware there might be some minor differences such as oil pressure sensor or some brackets.
Does the rebuilt come with any warranty? What would be the total cost of everything installed between the two engines? What is replaced in the rebuilt engine. If the rebuilt was done correctly and prices are the same that is the engine I would go for.
Thanks for your input! The rebuilt has a 1 year warranty, and the JDM has 30 day warranty. The rebuild is from a local shop too, so that's a plus since the JDM would ship from out of state for me. I'll have to check with the shop next week to find out what they replace on the rebuild. Thanks again!
