I have a automatic 2007 Chevy cobalt LT with 180,000 miles. When I tried using the windsheild defroster it didn't work, so I checked the wire leading to it and it was melted at the connector and slightly corroded even though the wire was 14 guage and the fuse wasn't blown. I separately spliced the wire together with electrical tape, is that ok, or should I have fixed it a different way?
