Hi Scotty, I have a 2000 4runner with 210k on it. runs great, shifts great. When something does happen to it, would you recommend spending the $ to keep it vs buying a newer one? New engine, 5k tranny 3k. paint job 3500. it’s been such a great vehicle.

Thanks, 4runner Joe.

That's completely up to you and what you are comfortable with spending.

If you want to keep it forever, why not fix it as you go?

If you change your transmission fluid and oil regularly, and use good synthetic oils, you likely won't have any trouble with the tranny or engine any time soon. I really like amsoil transmission fluid, but the engine is so good, any decent synthetic fluid will make it last nearly forever. Those things easily can last 400k or well over.

Do you mean you had this already done? Or do you mean you need to get these done?
