Should I put a supercharger on a higher mileage Lexus coupe?

I recently bought a Lexus RC350 automatic with just under 71,000 miles and I’m interested in putting a supercharger on it for some extra fun on the road. I don’t drive it much, my primary vehicle is a 2021 Lexus NX300 and the RC350 gets driven about 100 miles a month or so. Is it worth the money to put a supercharger on it or am I wasting my time with that project given the cars mileage?

If you want to put a supercharger on it, you're ok to do it at that mileage. Just realize that you will be significantly shortening the lifespan of the motor and you may start breaking parts depending on how hard you drive it and how much boost you want to put through it. You will be sacrificing reliability for performance.

Here is a good thread on the topic:

Thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated, I think I will proceed with the project given that it’s just a car for fun and I’m not too worried about shortening the lifespan. Smiles per gallon 🙂

That mileage is not that high. I would bring in @mod_man to tell you more about this topic. If you take performance more than reliability, go ahead and put the supercharger. The problem with superchargers is failing the emissions testing.

Scotty, I have an Lexus RC350 with 71,000 miles, I have a low mileage NX300H as my daily but I want to supercharge the RC, is it a good idea given the mileage?

please don't post duplicates. Thanks.
