Hey Scotty I have a 2011 Silverado with the 5.3 and the 6l80e six speed transmission with about 146,000 miles that I have have had for a few years,it runs and shifts great but my question is should I even replace the tranny filter and fluid, the fluid just started to look a little brown so I'm sure it's been done before but I'm wondering if I should do it at all with this kind of milage, what are your thoughts, thanks

Fluid and filter should have been changed at around every 40,000 miles.  Nobody seems to do that and wonders why they have transmission problems.

If you’re worried about it just empty and keep the fluid, change filter then put the fluid back in. If it’s only got a slight tint to it and doesn’t smell burnt honestly you could do a drain and fill with new fluid. It won’t hurt that transmission.
