Some <profanity removed by mod> keyed my door panel right down to the metal. The door needs to be repainted. but the car is a 04 X5 with 200K so it's not worth it. Is there a cheaper option that doesn't look terrible?

Go to junkyards and find a matching color door. Not sure where they put their paint codes now. My '94 540i had the paint name under the hood, Schwarz II. My truck's hood had hail dents and clear coat failure, and I got a matching hood from LKQ for $60.
That's a great tutorial and came out nice. @the-total-moron
As for me, I never can buy the matching color, because they don't make 20 years baked in Georgia versions. What I always do is get a couple that looks close to a match on my car, and tell the guys at the store I am going to go out and take a look at it and compare, they never mind. I pick the closest one I can get.
I also don't spend nearly as much time as Chris did, especially with my yearly chip removal, mostly from the front of my car. His sure did come out looking nice though!
I followed this video to fix some scrapes on my daughters car and it came out fine. (I love Chris, wish he did more content). Only thing is paint work is tedious. You really have to be patient to get it right.
Depending how much they keyed it, I have used the little touch up paint kits from auto parts store, and just lightly dab it on. It won't look terrific, but if you get a close paint match, you likely won't notice it unless you are really looking.
I have matched some of my friends cars so close, that it was really hard to tell it was touched up.
The best thing to use is an airbrush but it will still show.
Would come in handy to “know a guy” with the spray gear...
True. 99.9% of people wouldn't use it enough to just have one lying around. But they're not real expensive and kinda nice.
