Hello,

I have a '76 El Camino with 350ci 2bbl. Truck start stalling when climbing grades 8% or greater. Acts like a clogged filter or bad fuel pump. Then it started stalling on flat surfaces randomly. It will definitely stall (occasionally) when throttle is depressed as if down shifting a 4bbl. When throttle is released gas resumes. Acts like when we used to drop a ping pong ball in tank.

Any ideas?  Thanks

Rebuild the carburetor and get a new fuel filter.  Check for correct fuel pump pressure.

Everybody makes fuel pumps for this engine.  Just get one with a lifetime, limited warranty in case it's crap.

You can even get one from Walmart -

Copy, thanks for the reply. By the way, does TRW still make aftermarket pumps for this engine?
