I have a 2005 Lexus RX330 with 205,000 miles. Struts don't seem bouncy, ride is nice, but when going over rough roads it seems harsh and loud on the bumps. And an occasional thump on larger bumps. I was thinking that maybe just the rear strut mounts and bumpers might need replaced vs the entire strut. What do you think?

If the struts are compressing to the point of hitting the bumpers, I would replace them.

I agree with @Doc. You have a 16 years old car with over 200k miles. I'm pretty sure your struts are worn.
