I have looked high and low for information on 2014 Tacoma V6 4.0 151,000 miles. I have 2 codes P0016,P0018. The engine has been flushed and fresh oil and replaced. I have located the vvt solenoid under the throttle body and removed and cleaned, but can not find the other solenoid. I also want to locate the Oil Control Valve Filter. This truck will not exceed 25 to 30 mph. Would also love to see a video if you run across the same or similar problems.
I did clean out vvt solenoid, truck has power back. Now have a P0020 code
The codes you have listed are:
P0016 -
camshaft position sensor for bank 1
P0018 -
camshaft position sensor bank 2
Usually this is the chain, it’s tensioner and possibly maybe the sensors.
I do not see how this is related to the VVT solenoids - those have their own sensors and fault codes.
The P0020 code indicates the cam actuator circuit is open. Check all electrical connections for corrosion.
