Hey Scotty I have a 2016 Subaru Legacy 4 cylinder CVT with approx 70k miles on it. We just paid it off and I’m hoping it lasts at least another 70k+ miles! I change the oil regularly and perform routine maintenance such as the air filter but I’m wondering if there’s anything I should pay extra attention too for the rest of the cars life. Any advice? Thank you!

Change the CVT fluid every 60k mi regardless of what manual says. Spark plugs between 60k-90k mi. The CVT is the weakest part of the vehicle. Make sure the fluid stays clean and drive it easy.

Okay sweet thank you, do I need to take this into the dealer or can I change it myself?

@goodvibes24 if your mechanically inclined it can be done but it’s a process for sure. I’d watch a YouTube video or something first to see if you feel confident you can DIY.

Sounds good thank you 🙏
