Subaru Outback which oil

Hi Scotty

I've just watched your you tube video about choosing the correct engine oil and I have a question. I live in the UK and I have a new Subaru Outback (5th Generation) with the FB25 2.5i engine & CVT. I am about to do the first oil change. I use the car for normal driving and some towing of my caravan. The oil filler cap states 0w20 and the owners manual says ow20 is recommended but 5w30 and 5w40 can also be used. I have spoken to 3 local dealers - one uses 0w20 and the other two use 5w30. I contacted Castrol who suggested 0w20 or 5w30, Mobil who suggested 0w20 and Liqui Moly who said 0w20 was only used to improve fuel economy and I would be best using 5w40 because I do some towing. I'm totally confused - which one is best to use? I don't want to mess up my variable valve timing or anything else and I want the engine to last as long as possible. Which one should I use? Thank you

It was designed for 0w-20s or less wear on startup and fast lubrication I would stick to the factory OEM weight
