Hello all. To make a long story short, my wife was in a car accident and unfortunately, it looks like the car will be totaled. She has a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and would like a car similar to it with the spacing, cargo room, etc along with it being a SUV. Budget tops is $25K. Any recommendations on vehicles, years, and mileage we should look for? Any help is appreciated thanks.
Depending on what is available in your area: Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV, Mazda CX-5. Either this generation or last generation.
If she can go new, I recommend checking out the Toyota Corolla Cross. It is a little smaller than the 3 above, but I think it is a great size. Although the Toyota Corolla Cross is brand new, it is based on the Corolla platform, so it has some good legs to stand on.
Would you recommend a Toyota Highlander? I know it would be high mileage but would that be alright?
Assuming it checks out, I’d roll in a Highlander. Usually they are more expensive even used, so I recommend the RAV4 as an affordable option.
I would suggest Rav4 or CR-V or Corolla Cross, but if you have a strict max budget of $25k then Corolla Cross because the two other cars are over $25k.

They're good cars (do make sure to check for year/models which might have issues) but depends on the mileage and price. Too high of a mileage especially with the high used car prices these days won't be a good choice.
I will throw in a 2019 or newer Kia Sorento or a 2019 or newer Hyundai Tuscon depending on how much room you need. Good luck getting anything under $25K.
