Hello Scotty, big fan from Nigeria. I have a 2000 Camry, 4-speed automatic with 208,000 miles. I’m getting a P0171 code (system running lean Bank 1) but I’m also noticing a major drop in fuel economy.
I recently changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, fuel pump, 02 Sensor Upstream (twice this year), cleaned the map sensor along with the air filter, and I’ve checked for vacuum leaks.
It’s bugging me how the car shows running lean but has started getting worse fuel economy. Please help me.

Have you checked the fuel line pressure?
Also, check for leak in your exhaust system.
