Scotty, love your channel first time 'caller'! I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country limited 3.8 6 cylinder 154k all highway miles. Great shape just a couple of problems, which one Would expect. I'm getting a high pitched wine under the hood, probably the alternator bearing. But I can't figure out what amperage it is. I tried Googleing it but still can't figure it. Any idea what I can do? Thanks
When you say probably the alternator bearing, have you pin pointed the noise to the alternator pulley? Or are you just winging it?
I’d follow Scotty’s steps in this video & correctly diagnose the source of the whine before starting to throw parts at the problem. https://youtu.be/UqLXwN2GNeU
If it’s indeed the alternator pulley, just for reference - https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chrysler,2005,town+&+country,3.8l+v6,1430738,electrical,alternator+/+generator,2412
You could try giving a Chrysler dealer your vin number and see if they can tell you what amp alternator it came with
