Living on disability, sold my car to pay off debt to afford medicine. I’m saving for a good used car <$5000. I’m female and need help finding a good reliable used car. I feel like women are more taken advantage of by used car dealers. Any suggestions?

Consider buying a Toyota Corolla, and stay away from used car dealers. Buy private party. They run forever with just basic maintenance. Avoid SUVs, people love Rav4s, Highlanders, etc. Take it to a trusted mechanic and have him or her check it out before buying.
