Hey Scotty! I have a 130,000 KM, 2018 Mazda BT-50 5-cylinder based on the Ford Ranger. A few days ago the gear shifter got so loose it didn't change gears when i put it back in drive from reverse. Today it came back from my mechanic, he told my dad that the handbrake wire/cabe/ i don't know what it is, he just told my dad and he didn't know what the heck the mechanic was talking about, but he told him that's the problem. When my dad got in, he said it was still broken but this time when he put it in drive, it goes in reverse! He sent him to another mechanic 3 blocks away to adjust the wire, he went there (yes in reverse) and guess what: they didn't fix it. He just brought back the car and told me to ask you: what the heck is the problem? 6R80 tranny from FoMoCo.
