Thoughts on buying a 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Hi my friend is thinking about buying a 2005 Suzuki Grand Virara LX for $4,500 with 92 thousand miles. It comes with the 2.5L 6-cylinder and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Are these reliable cars and will they hold up for at least a couple lf years?

Note that with any car that's no longer imported, like the Suzuki, it will be difficult to get parts or knowledgeable service for anything beyond the basics. It's an orphan 🙁

Finding parts for that car is a real pain. Does not worth it.

My experience with the early 2000s Suzukis (made in Canada) has been good.  After that, I don't know.

I don't have any problem finding parts for my 2003 Chevy Tracker (Suzuki).

I think this engine has Direct Fuel Injection, so GDI, I personally would not recommend it. However, this engine should be the one co-developed with Mazda and Toyota, so it could last a long time? The personally would have more faith in the tranny since it's a Aisin 4-speed AT.
