Scotty love your work,

I have a 2013 Volvo S60 T5 turbo. It’s a five cylinder.

I had the serpentine belt and another belt become wrapped up in my engine and had them replaced.

three months later the same thing happened. I replaced the belts but the mechanic said there was no compression in the engine.

he thinks the valves were damaged  because the belts went.

The car is at 94k miles and it would cost 5-8k to repair or replace the engine

what should I do in your opinion? Scrap or repair based on current condition?

What do you think of brand loyalty? Does it pay off in the long run to know a brands unique style, quality, common issues ect?

also what is your opinion on current Volvo cars ?

and what is your opinion on the

t5 engines and on the new t6 and t8 engines

I love the brand but reliability has me looking toward a Honda after your  videos

Either fix it for $5K or spend $45K for a new one.  Volvos are now Chinese and are junk.

What was the other belt?

Both got wrapped together? They snapped together?

three months later the same thing happened.

then the problem wasn't the belt. It was something attached to it.

The valves are not operated by the serpentine belt.

This "mechanic" is starting to sound highly suspect to me.
