I recently bought a 1981 Nissan 280zx everything was fine up until I close my door. I don't know why its mainly my door but when I close my door my rpms climb up a tiny bit, but then drops 300 and 500 rpms which is really mysterious. Also not just that but when driving around I'd say between 50-60mph and switch to neutral it just dies, I've been trying to know the answer to this but can't find any answers, any help or suggestion is highly appreciated!
You must have a problem with the door switch shorting things out somehow also test your battery and alternator they could be weak pray it's not some crazy wiring short somewhere those are old cars but man they're wiring as they age they often just start falling apart the insulation comes off and then they start shorting out with scores of where is all bundled together shorting out amongst each other
Check all the wiring passing through the door jamb into the door for shorts and frayed, grounding wires. I'll bet you'll find the problem there.
