I have a 1998 Audi A4 tiptronic trans with only 50,000 original miles on it. I can move the gear selector between D, N and R when cold. When I drive the car, the gear selector is near impossible to move out of D until the trans cools down. What is causing this?
Also, I changed my rubber timing belt in 2009 and put no more than 2000 miles on this car. Should I replace the timing belt again due to its age?
Thank you.

For the transmission issue, you may have dirty ATF or faulty solenoid.
For the timing belt, I would change it due to the age.
