Hi Scotty, I have 2013 Honda Civic lately every month on the front tires I loose to put 2 to 3 lbs pressure each tire,  the tpms light comes on. Any idea thanks. And I haven't seen your cat in any of your videos. did you take with you to Tennessee?

What cat?

Keep in mind as temperatures drop more and more so will the pressure in your tires.

@okcafe
PV = nRT , … The ideal gas Law

At constant temperature and volume the pressure of a gas (air!) is directly proportional to the number of moles of gas.

So, you can formulate all the different gas laws:

P1V1 = P2V2

P1/T1 = P2/T2

V1/T1 = V2/T2

and so on...

Sounds like you may have slow leaks or possibly small punctures. What PSI do you fill them to? Usually you need to be down 5-10psi before TPMS triggers a light, so maybe they are underinflated.

It seems to be a quite a small, tolerable leak. What I would do is simply purchase a tire pressure gauge. Throw it into glovebox, … and remember to check tire pressure weekly - initially, to determine how big of a leak it is. If indeed it is just just a one PSI drop, … I would simply check my pressure, say, every 2 weeks and pump it up as needed, …

… of course, I would also check all tires through and trough for cuts, punctured and stuck nails or screws in them - now - to be sure that it’s not that that causes your problem. Stuck screw or nail in a thread is quite effective plug! Puncture with a nail in it leaks slowly but surely just about every time!

… I would also quit relying on TPMS warning me about the condition of my tires, … because if TPMS kicks in, it’s time to take that tire off, and take into tire shop for thorough inspection. It just may be the tire is already a burnt toast, …

There's no such thing as a "tolerable leak". If any tire leaks from any form of puncture, FIX IT !

Did I say a “tolerable leak from a puncture”? If I did, I’m so, so terribly sorry, … forgive me, please!

Anyway, … if there is a very slow leak, yet, … yet tire/rim/valve combination inspection shows no sign of punctures, cuts, sidewall rubs, rim bends or cracks, … and no soapy water bubbles whatsoever, … and still leaks air pressure at the rate of, say, … a PSI or less per month, … would you still insist on a fix?

Best,

I do recall that I already said, “I’m so, so terribly sorry, … forgive me, please!” You’re not obliged to do so, of course. I fully understand, …

Anyway, … I’m just a shade-tree-mechanic with no bones to pick. Period.

Bestest regards
