I've got a 2005 Accord with 90K miles. My AC stop working recently and i was told that it failed electrically. I was quoted about 900 to fix it. I also know my steering pump is on it way out. But I don't know how much that cost. Carmax will give me $2500 if in Average condition. Should i try to fix and hope to sell for around $4500 to a private party or just sell as is.
With only 90K miles that thing is barely broken in. I'd fix it and keep it. Right now you'll pay through the nose for a replacement car.
I would fix the issues and keep driving it.
I agree with the first reply. I'm sure that with the proper guidance you can replace your own power steering pump cheaply and safely. The AC compressor, although more difficult, is also something that can be replaced using Youtube or other guidance. For a modest investment, you can keep your 90K Accord going for awhile yet
I'd fix it myself. Not worth selling over those issues.
If the power steering pump is anything like my 1999 Honda Accord. It’s not too difficult to change.
And I’m not a mechanic. I’m just a guy that googles around and watches guys like Scotty to learn about how to fix my own car.
