When I needed a tow, I got into a conversation with the tow truck driver over our hour long drive.
I asked him what cars he towed the most. I was expecting a GM product. Or maybe some Euro car. But he said Civics and Corollas. And Honda’s and Toyota’s by brand.
I thought those were the most reliable cars on the market?!?
And he said that was correct. They are super reliable. And that’s why he has to tow them. These car brands last so damn long, that he tows a ton of them that are super old and super high mileage.
Since these old reliable Honda’s and Toyota’s are still on the road versus the other newer less reliable makes that have shorter life spans, older Honda’s and Toyota’s are the ones that get towed!!!
That seems to fit the consensus with Scotty and this Forum about general longevity and reliability.
Thank you for all your insight. And Merry Christmas!
Of course it depends the area you live in too in Houston the most towed cars were BMWs cuz they broke down all the time if people had more money than they knew what to do with. Also jaguars and mercedes-benz's in Houston
you can't just take the number of vehicles towed as evidence for much. What matters is RATES.
number of Corollas towed VERSUS the number sold/owned/being driven etc.
it's like saying oh look, all the rotten apples on the ground are Macintosh, while you're standing under a Macintosh apple tree.
