Hey Scotty, my dad has a driving instructor business and was wondering if he should get the brand new 2022 Corolla hybrid for teaching instead of his current civic. The insurance for the civic is higher too and gas prices are on the rise he wants to keep it for a while would love to hear your advice thanks.
I don't care for hybrids but Toyotas are the best, they've pretty much perfected the technology. The hybrid should work out fine if he doesn't mind the higher purchase price and doesn't plan to keep it much over 10 years.
The Corolla is a good car and Toyota is known for their hybrid technology which they've been making for years now. So yeah it's definitely a good car. The only thing is to see if the increased price of a hybrid is worth it based on how much he will save on gas. Also, hybrids are more complex than gasoline only cars, so if he plans on keeping it for a very very long time then he should consider this and a battery change.
I would also consider the Prius.
Most of the time I would say don't get hybrids if you want long term reliability. I assume your dad's students are mostly tested on driving on mostly cities and sometimes highways. If that's the case, get the 2022 Toyota Corolla Hybrid.
I would consider those things from what @fjcruiser2014 said.
