So this is embarrassing to admit, but a local Toyota dealer sold us a 2014 Camry advertised as non-smoking. We didn't smell tobacco or anything until a day later, and now the stench is unbearable. The worst part is that a day after purchasing the car, I found a cigarette rolled up on the floorboard. They did do an ozone treatment when we told them, but now the smell is back again. We traded in our 04 Highlander for this car, and are pretty upset. Obviously we emailed the manager at the dealer. What should we do from here? We purchased this two weeks ago. Any tips or things we should say when we bring the car back for a second key? Very disappointed right now.
Do you have anything in writing or a print of the advertisement for the car that said it was a non-smoking vehicle? If so that's fraud and actionable, a fact you can confront the dealer with that might make them more cooperative.
It has to be in writing.
