Toyota Doesn't Care!

I recently took my 2013 Tundra (132,009 miles) to the dealer service for a simple transmission fluid change. I've done it myself but for the time and effort it takes I thought they would be helpful. I pull in early and at check-in I was told "your transmission may not work after this fluid change and we're not responsible" WTF!! I asked how could it not work after a drain and fill. They (Victor) said they don't drain and fill, they flush! I said there's your problem, just drain and fill, flushing will mess up a transmission with mileage. They said we don't drain we flush with a machine. I said thank you very much, I'll do it myself. Toyota is really joining the rest in their race to the bottom!

Sadly, flush machines have been around for years and it's not just Toyota dealers. Shops use these machines and methods because they make them money, it's that simple. You're better off doing it yourself and not risking a flush lodging debris into the transmission's value body.

*Toyota Dealers don’t care. (Not Toyota itself).

Dealers suck. Toyota is more upstanding relatively.

But Toyota is beholden to the Dealers.
