Hi scotty

big fan here. I recently bought Toyota Matrix xrs 2009 with 200k km on it. I saw a video from you after I bought that the engine eats oil. You think I should sell the car or should I keep it and feeding it oil every time it gets low?

@meshprem
if you drive on highway get rid of this car, if driving only in town then its ok to drive because Toyota are solid made car.

Depends on how often you have to add oil, older engines will burn oil but if it's burning too much oil than I suppose you could sell it but if its not burning that much its not that big of a deal

your 2.4L engine is notorious for burning crazy amounts of oil, because the oil control rings get carbon packed and seized into the pistons.  The only real fix is to replace them with the updated pistons and rings...   or swap in a low mileage engine from a late 2010 or newer car, built after the new piston design went into production.   Plan C is ditch the engine and drop in an electric motor and a big battery in the trunk.
